New Apple iPod shuffle

Apple today introduced the next generation iPod shuffle that is jaw-droppingly small. It’s half the size of the previous generation. Yet there’s room for so much more. With 4GB of storage, it now holds up to 1,000 songs, and lets you enjoy multiple playlists, too.

1.8" tall x 0.3" thin

The controls of the new iPod shuffle are located on the right earbud cord. With the press of a button, users can play, pause, adjust volume, switch playlists and hear the name of the song and artist.
So here is the biggest problem with the new shuffle, YOU CANT USE YOUR OWN FAVOURITE PAIR OF HEADPHONES. According to Apple, anyone who wants to use their own third-party headphones will be required to purchase a Shuffle-controlling dongle (approximately 15 to 20$ extra) that will attach to both the iPod and the headphones.

The iPod shuffle clip also gets a fresh treatment. Now forged in stainless steel, the clip attaches securely to your shirt, jacket, workout gear, even your backpack. The body of the shuffle has a sleek, durable, anodized aluminium case — available in silver or black.

The new iPod shuffle boasts about a new feature called VoiceOver. Say you’re listening to a song and want to know the title or the artist. With the press of a button, VoiceOver tells you as the music dips down. It even announces the names of your playlists. And when your battery needs charging, VoiceOver tells you that, too. The VoiceOver speaks 14 different languages likes English, German, French, Japanese, Chinese etc.

The 3rd generation 4GB iPod shuffle will be available in India in couple of weeks at a retail price of Rs. 4,900 through Apple Authorised Resellers.
